NMHS Quick Facts

North Marion High School is completely Cambridge! We have been a Cambridge International Center for 16 years, and we offer the Cambridge curriculum to all students. 

In 2022-23, North Marion High School’s students earned over 2.3 million dollars in scholarships, accumulated over 282 industry certifications, and earned over 1,500 college credits. 

​

For four years, North Marion High School has been recognized as a Magnet School of Distinction by Magnet Schools of America, and was the first school in Marion County to receive this honor. 

​

North Marion High School has the only Industrial Biotechnology magnet and Agricultural Biotechnology programs in Marion County. North Marion offers certifications in Agricultural Biotechnology and as Biotechnician Assistants. We have partnerships with Santa Fe College, Biotility at the University of Florida, and the 2022-23 Student Spaceflight Experiment Program (SSEP). 

North Marion High School offers numerous industry certifications for students in Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), Certified Nurse Assistant, Animal Science Specialist, and many others. NMHS is consistently the leading industry certification-earning school in Marion County. Students also have numerous opportunities to earn credits towards A.S. degrees at the College of Central Florida. 

North Marion High School’s FFA is an eight-time winner of the prestigious National Chapter award and currently holds a 3-Star rank. The program has been named one of “Florida’s Finest FFA Chapters” eight years in a row (2016-2023). NMHS FFA is “Top 10 in the Nation” as a National Finalist for the National Chapter Award Program – Building Communities. (2023 Equine Program) 

NMHS is offering the only Equine Science program in the country. North Marion High School’s Animal and Equine Science program is recognized throughout the for its excellence in preparing students to work in the agricultural industry. This program has been featured in national magazines such as Wire to Wire, Blood Horse, and Ocala Style. Our students have externships opportunities in the equine and animal science industries. 

Air Force Headquarters has recognized North Marion's Air Force JROTC with several Distinguished Unit awards. JROTC is all about building soft skills, leadership, and student self-confidence. The JROTC Colts are best known for their fitness and military drill teams; and community service projects. The program also offers dual-enrollment courses through Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University: Principles of Aeronautics and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (national certification opportunity). 

North Marion Athletics has a proud tradition of success. Our teams consistently compete for championships at the district, regional, and state levels. Our boys and girls basketball teams won the 2022-23 District Championships and our baseball team won the 2022-23 State Championship. We are very proud of the countless number of student-athletes who have received athletic scholarships to further their education and compete at the collegiate level.
